Bahamas and the British Virgin Islands · Private Catamaran Charters

Seven days at sea.
One thing to do — relax.

Sozo Custom Charters offers fully-crewed, fully-tailored catamaran vacations through the most beautiful waters in the Caribbean.

Sozo

(verb) — to heal, to be made whole

Our goal is to craft a week of experiences that bring what you need the most. Whether it's times of quiet and stillness or moments that challenge your comfort zone, we want you to have what you need to experience the healing of the sea.

Welcome aboard

A private charter, made entirely for you.

I'm Captain Scott Giffin, and together with my wife Jennifer — your First Mate — we host small groups for unforgettable catamaran vacations through the Bahamas and the British Virgin Islands.

We handle everything: provisioning, weather routing, mooring reservations, meals, and dietary preferences. You bring yourself, your closest friends, and your sense of wonder. And if you can't do gluten, we bring the world's best gluten-free banana pancakes.

Mornings

Banana pancakes with tropical toppings, fresh fruit, granola, eggs and bacon, avocado toast, and more of your favorites — tailored to your group's tastes.

After Breakfast

Set sail to a new harbor. Snorkel at the Indians or Thunderball Grotto, explore The Baths at Virgin Gorda, shop the markets of Jost Van Dyke, or get lost in a good book on the beach.

Lunch

We serve everything from craft burgers or brats on the grill, Mediterranean or Buddha bowls, or a simple charcuterie board and à la carte options.

Afternoons

Play in the water, explore on the paddle boards, book a local parasailing or scuba diving excursion, or simply relax and recover in the Caribbean breeze.

Dinner

Your crew will prepare meals like grilled mahi over Caribbean rice, steak and shrimp with roasted root veggies and other options on board, or we can step ashore for some of the Caribbean's best seaside dining.

Evenings

Nights on board are simple yet powerful. Sometimes it's games and relationship building. Other times it's quiet peaceful reflection under the stars.

Tailored, not packaged

Your itinerary is fluid, adaptable, and entirely yours.

Before you ever step on board, we'll meet over a Zoom call to learn your group's likes, dislikes, and dietary preferences — so the trip is shaped around you from day one.

Each morning at breakfast we'll talk through the day's options together. Want to stay an extra day where you are? Find a perfect new snorkeling spot? Sail further? It's your call. Always.

Scott and Jennifer Giffin
Scott · Captain  ·  Jennifer · First Mate

Hi! We're Scott and Jennifer Giffin.

We've been married for over thirty years and have four kids. Three are off doing their own thing and our fourth is still with us and brightening our lives every day.

We fell madly in love with the sea and her healing properties twenty years ago and have been working hard to get to know her better since then.

We've lived in the Caribbean and the Florida Keys and now we call North Carolina home. Always living near the water because there is nothing quite as healing and restorative as the sea.

Scott is an excellent Captain, a very capable marine mechanic (important on a boat!) and a people person. He has taught both SCUBA diving and sailing, and he enjoys sharing his passions.

Jennifer is his First Mate and has also dedicated her life to teaching, first and foremost their four children but in other capacities when needed. She's a wonderful cook and a friendly people person who's never met a stranger.

We love the sea and we'd love to experience it with you!
